PocketBible New American Standard Exhaustive Concordance - LBKNASEC01

Product Description

New American Standard Exhaustive Concordance; Hebrew Dictionary The New American Standard Exhaustive Concordance for use with all versions of PocketBible. (Does not work with "PalmBible". See also System Requirements, below.)

The New American Standard Exhaustive Concordance is actually three reference books in one:

  1. The New American Standard Bible (NASB) with Strong's numbers lets you determine what Hebrew or Greek words underlie the the English words without actually having to know the original languages!
  2. The NAS Hebrew Dictionary lets you look up the definitions of Hebrew words by just tapping the word number in the NASB.
  3. Similarly, the NAS Greek Dictionary is your reference for Greek words when studying the New Testament.

Over 100 years ago, James Strong created a unique reference book: A list of every word in the Bible, including a list of every occurrence of every word, and the Hebrew, Aramaic, or Greek word from which it was translated in each case. By assigning a number to every original language word, Strong made it possible for a layperson with no language experience to quickly find the word in his Hebrew and Greek dictionaries.

Our NAS Exhaustive Concordance puts this power in the palm of your hand. While viewing the English text of the NASB Bible, just tap a Strong's number to view the dictionary definition of the original language word from which the English was translated (see screen shots). Every entry in the Hebrew and Greek dictionaries include:

  • The original language spelling using fonts supplied with PocketBible
  • The transliterated spelling (pronunciation)
  • The origin of the word
  • The definition of the word
  • A list of all the English words used (and the number of times each is used) in the NASB to translate this word

New American Standard Exhaustive Concordance; Greek Dictionary This would be a powerful resource if that's all it did. But there's more. Using the powerful search features in PocketBible, you can:

  • Search for every occurrence of a particular Hebrew or Greek word by its word number. Searching for g26 finds every time the Greek word agape is used. PocketBible highlights the English word translated from agape in every verse in which it appears.
  • Search for every time a Hebrew or Greek word is translated into a specific English word. Searching for love:g26 finds everywhere that agape is translated "love" in the NASB.
  • Search for every time a Hebrew or Greek word is not translated into a particular English word, or every time a particular English word does not come from the specified Hebrew or Greek word. For example, love:-g26 finds everywhere the word "love" is not translated from Greek word 26, and -love:g26 finds everywhere Greek word 26 is not translated as "love" in the NASB.
  • Combine any of the searches above using Boolean (AND, OR, NOT, XOR) operators, wildcards, and phrases.
Other Windows CE Bible software may "have Strong's numbers" but you won't find this combination of features anywhere else.

Just want to read the NASB Bible and not be bothered with all the numbers? Turn the numbers off and you've got the entire uncluttered text of the 1995 edition of the New American Standard Bible. But you can still do the searches described above, and the results will be highlighted in the English text.
